    My new budgie, advice?
The budgie I bought yesterday to go with the budgie I have already(They do seem to get along well!), he's from a pet store with a lot of other budgies in the cage, and now I've got it to get on my finger and allow me to pet his tummy.

Does that mean it'll be reasonably easy to tame? I didn't expect it to react so well. My other budgie isn't tame at all by the way, but the one I had with her before(An old budgie my mom saved from a cat) was very tame.
    Love from the Netherlands!

I didn't lure it with food, I just used my finger to lure it over. Would pellets make it go better or is it better to have it just go on my finger like it does now?

    help with my new parakeet.
how long does it take a parakeet to get used to you? mine doesn't seem to like me at all and i've had her for a little over a week. she freaks out when i put my hand in the cage to change her food or water. she never comes out of her cage when i leave the door open for her. she makes no noise and i never see her drink, i just saw her eat for the first time a few days ago and afterwards she was smacking her beak loudly as though she was thirsty. i also saw her sleep for the first time today and i'm concerned that my current sleeping pattern is really messing up hers.

i come home from work around midnight or later, then i go in my room and turn the lights on and watch tv or sit on the computer and then sleep from 5am to 1pm or 2pm. i noticed her sleeping when i walked into my room today around midnight again, but as soon as i sat down on my bed i looked up and she was wide awake, looking at me.

what can i do to make her more comfortable, to get used to me? will she ever want to sit on my finger, shoulder, or at least fly out of her cage? my boyfriend got her for me at petsmart, so i highly doubt she was ever hand fed or anything. should i consider keeping her in another room so my sleeping patterns and noise don't bother her, or will that just make her even more distant from me?

i've been doing a lot of googling, but i'm mostly just confused and worried. help? advice? :(

also, please include any advice you have on owning a parakeet for the first time! i'm trying to learn on my own, but i really don't want to do anything wrong.

    In need of advice please!
    Hello Everyone!,

This past Saturday (my 20th birthday) I decided to purchase a parakeet. I am not new to bird owning (I owned a two zebra finches one died when I was younger, the other I had since elementary school passed away last year) and I have had relatives who owned these types of birds so I figured everything would be okay. Except for, she won't eat or drink or do anything. She sits on the perch in the corner and just sits, nothing more no sounds or anything. It's been two days now and I am starting to get worried. I know it takes time to bond with a bird and for it to become comfortable in a new home but is it really normal for it to not eat during that process? :/ I'm starting to think buying her was a bad idea.. Please help!

Here's a picture of her, I named her Miku C:
